I continued to drive toward the Jeddah airport, thinking about what Sheikh Ahmed had said.


I felt uncomfortable that he sensed my doubt, but he also seemed very patient with me.


If he is willing to answer questions, then I might as well ask them, I thought. The only problem is that I might now like the answer.


Out loud I said, “Sheikh Ahmed, what do you think the Prophet would say about 9/11? Would he agree with attacking the United States?
